The ending is more of a crossover to Mission Impossible than anything else and it doesn't fit in there. It's an entertaining popcorn movie with great audiovisuals, but I honestly wouldn't watch it again.
Heee, look at you, simping over some recycled remake, being happy they did not make him transgender black. Guess we live in remake/reboot/prequel times..where original content?
Ironically, the movie is actually kinda woke with the top female pilot, people of color and strong female partner for maverick. Maverick also runs to her to cry in the middle of the story.
But it's a brilliant movie. I watched it twice on imax just to support it. They are not toxic the way Hollywood is these days. They don't beat you over the head with "The Message". They focus on telling a simple story with compelling characters. And the movie also shows how you can be masculine without being toxic masculine. Absolutely love this entertaining movie. This is how you should make movies. Story and characters first. Everything else serves the story or is incidental.
this movie is pure garbage. US dick waving military ad where the antagonist is simply called "the enemy". Targeted for simple minded american citizens.
