A lot of this is true, i worked in Libya post gaddafi and many libyans shared how wonderful life was under gaddafi

This all sounds very exaggerated. But things weren't bad under Gaddafi. Oil profits were shared with all citizens (Dubai and Saudi Arabia do that too). Gaddafi outlawed slavery and after the USA had him killed slavery has started again in Libya. Thanks USA. But Gaddafi wasn't all good. He committed a lot of humans rights crimes and even though he opposed a lot of terrorism he did support some. So some good and some bad with the guy. USA started backing and training rebels to start a civil war in Libya and then bombed Libya to protect civilians from the war they started. The reasons the USA wanted to over throw Gaddafi is because he was selling most of his oil to Russia and China at cheap rates letting them industrialize too quickly, but his biggest sin was trying to get other African nations to unite and adopt a "gold standard" for their currency instead of basing it on USA dollar like the rest of the world. That would have weakened the US dollar a lot. So USA decided he had to go.

Yeah totally ignor the fact that he was a brutal dictator doing horrible shit to his people. And you aren't even talking about his son. He would rape and kill just because he wanted to be like daddy and gadafi would totally ignore it. Don't sugarcoat dictators. There was often a reason their own people tried assassinating them so often.
